The Girl on the Train
Two clips from Girl on the Train (2013) - written and directed by Larry Brand.
When I first read the script, I was struck by the way that the rhythm of the city was a recurring theme and character - hence my choice of NYC shots, many of them taken either before or after a day's shoot.
Going through the screen to break the wall of reality was another theme, which played out beautifully in a very simple effect.
On the Road...
This video features a selection of shots from documentary video shoots in China, Brazil, Poland, and the USA dealing with topics such as HIV prevention and Holocaust histories.
One thing I found particularly interesting in traveling was the way the clarity of the air became a part of the story.
Corporate and Commercial
I selected a variety of clips shot for corporate and commercial projects to help provide a better sense of the variety and range of work that goes on outside of the dramatic and documentary environments.
TV: Clips from Remember WENN and from POWER: The Eddie Matos Story
These are a few selected clips from two of my favorite television shoots.
Remember WENN was a period drama/comedy written by Ruppert Holmes (Mystery of Edwin Drood) set in an early 1940's radio station, and also the first drama series produced by American Movie Classics. I was fortunate enough to act as Director of Photography for the entire series (4 seasons / 56 episodes). We were blessed with a wonderful cast and a talented group of directors.
